A Tale of the Pipa in Yue Opera

On the evening of July 20, an audition for the Yue opera "The Tale of the Pipa", adapted from Gao Zecheng's original works, was held in Ruian, Zhejiang province.
Thirty-eight years ago, the Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe put on the stage a new version of "The Story of Pipa," with its premiere in Ruian as a tribute to its author, Gao Zecheng. Thirty-eight years later, Gao Zecheng's hometown people again performed "Pipa Legend" in the form of Yue opera.
This is the hometown of Rui 'an and Gao Zecheng, the hometown of the "hometown of Southern Opera", and it is the first time that they really have their own "live version" of "Pipa Legend".
Yuan Dynasty dramatist Gao Zecheng's Pipa Tale, known as the "legendary ancestor", is a landmark work in Chinese drama. It is a Southern opera adapted from the long-circulated folk opera Zhao Zhen Nu CAI Erlang. The play is about the sad love story of CAI Bo Declined and Zhao Wuniang, two scholars in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The whole play altogether 42 pieces, the structure is complete and clever, the language is elegant and vivid.
The drama is composed of a strong production team, directed by Ni Donghai, the national first-class director and executive vice president of Zhejiang Directors Association. The young and middle-aged writers team of Zhejiang Literature and Art Innovation Research Center is warm and adapted. The stage design, lighting, costumes and music are all created by provincial experts, and Ruian Yue Troupe Co., Ltd. is responsible for the performance.
The stage was elegantly designed and the actors performed with both appearance and spirit, and the audience praised it as a stunningly high standard of play. The scene adopts the colorful lighting FINE 1400 PERF, FINE 1400 SPOT, FINE 1400 WASH, FINE 550 BSW PLUS, FINE 1537 PIXIE, which perfectly presents the charm of dramatic art.
