FINE ART Supports the Successful Premiere of the New Historical Peking Opera The Upright Official Li Dianlin

The play was selected for the Shanxi Art Fund's 2025 Stage Art Creation and Production Project. The script was written by renowned screenwriter Jing Yanbin, with direction by Ma Xiao, a faculty member of the Directing Department at the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, and vocal score design by the celebrated opera musician Zhu Shaoyu. The leading role was performed by Sheng Zhiqiang, a renowned laosheng (old male role) master of the Xi school, joined by the acclaimed huulian (painted‑face) performer Zhang Wei and the Meipai qingyi (female lead) master Shan Na. The play focuses on the rampant corruption of the late‑Qing era’s donation‑based official appointment system. It tells how Li Dianlin, holding a high position in the Ministry of Personnel, witnessed the devastating effects of selling official posts on the people and resolutely risked his own safety to boldly remonstrate against the abolition of the two‑thousand‑year‑old system. The drama interweaves Li’s conflicts with his junior fellow Wang Rui, Empress Dowager Cixi, and his wife Zhou, creating a three‑dimensional portrait of an upright official who is both firm and compassionate. As the first original work to bring Li Dianlin to the theatrical stage, the play uses historical narrative to reflect on clean governance and the greater good of the nation, drawing lessons from the past to promote integrity, righteousness, and steadfastness in our own time.

In this Peking opera feast of clean‑official culture, multiple professional lighting fixtures from FINE ART provided outstanding light efficiency, passionately supporting the unyielding spirit of the upright official. The FINE 550 BSW PLUS three‑in‑one light, with its large 169mm output lens, creates a robust beam. Its rich color system – CMY, CTO, and an independent color wheel – interweaves with an eight‑facet prism and a twenty‑four‑facet prism, combined with a dynamic effect wheel, to depict the solemn dignity of the remonstrance in the imperial hall and the inner turmoil of the character. The FINE 1400 PERF, with its unique optical design, achieves uniform light distribution and allows frosting via focus adjustment without changing the beam size or luminous flux. Equipped with a full framing system rotatable 90°, it sharply frames Li Dianlin’s decisive posture as he dares to speak truth to power.

The FINE 4019 PIXIE PLUS two‑in‑one beam and wash light, using high‑quality RGBW four‑in‑one LEDs as its light source with individually controllable beads, delivers a maximum output of 900W and an illuminance of 29,500 lux at 6 meters. With a wide linear zoom range of 4° to 60°, uniform color mixing, and 0–100% smooth linear dimming, it effortlessly creates the layered atmosphere from late‑night contemplation to fierce debate in court. The FINE 400CL7 professional LED cyclorama/floor light employs a 7‑color full‑spectrum optical design with Ra and R9 both above 90, and theatre‑grade 16‑bit high‑precision dimming, providing delicate and precise coverage that illuminates the faces of the characters, revealing every trace of compassion and determination of the upright official.

As the final notes of Peking opera fade and the spirit of integrity lingers, FINE ART uses light as a brush – not only illuminating the iron‑will of an official who risked death to speak the truth, but also reflecting the timeless power of honesty, righteousness, and adherence to principle that transcends ancient and modern times. Where light and shadow reach, the clean governance and national duty are transformed on this stage into an enduring echo of the ages.
FINE ART Passionately Illuminates the Original Peking Opera Hanyang Made – An Epic of China's National Industry

Hanyang Made takes as its main thread the founding of the Hubei Arsenal by Zhang Zhidong, the late‑Qing Viceroy of Huguang, reflecting the "birth history of a rifle" as a mirror of a nation's century‑long journey from awakening in peril to forging ahead through innovation. The script was co‑written by renowned playwright Zhao Ruitai and young screenwriter Pan Yanzhu, directed by acclaimed director Guo Xiaonan, and led by National First‑Class Actor Yin Zhangxu. With solid skills from three generations of performers, both in singing and acrobatics, the production showcases the vibrant, well‑inherited artistry of the Hubei Provincial Peking Opera Theatre. Unlike many historical dramas, the play does not stop at recounting historical facts. Instead, it focuses on the spiritual struggles and unyielding breakthroughs of late‑Qing officials and modern industrial workers under technological blockade and internal and external pressures, elevating the "chase for material progress" to a "spiritual awakening" that resonates across time with today's spirit of independent innovation and technological self‑reliance.

The stage aesthetic of the play blends the suggestive and minimalist traditions of Peking opera with contemporary visual expression. Multi‑layered, symbolic scenery combined with multimedia projections breaks the physical limits of the traditional stage, interweaving Zhang Zhidong's late‑night anxieties over establishing the arsenal with the oppressive weight of court pressures within the same dramatic context. Through the flow of light and shadow, the audience witnesses the dislocation between the individual and the era, evoking profound empathy for historical fate.

In the stage presentation of this national industrial epic, multiple professional lighting fixtures from FINE ART provided outstanding light efficiency, passionately supporting the century‑long journey of self‑strengthening. The FINE 1700CF BSWF four‑in‑one framing light has an effective range of up to 100 meters, with Ra and R9 both exceeding 95, delivering stunning light quality that accurately reproduces the rich textures of late‑Qing costumes and the cold steel of the arsenal. Its patented cooling system maintains full‑power operation at room temperature without derating, with noise below 45dB, preserving the theater's immersive atmosphere with extreme silence.

The FINE 4019 WASH PLUS high‑power moving head wash light features a new optical design for uniform color mixing and soft effects. At narrow angles, it achieves 30,000 lux at 6 meters, with a wide zoom range of 4° to 60° to meet diverse lighting needs from solitary contemplation to ensemble drama. Its smooth, delicate dimming and flicker‑free start‑up at low brightness perfectly align with the aesthetic requirements of Peking opera. The FINE 1700L WASH PERF wash and framing light is equipped with a latest‑generation high‑efficiency light engine (Ra ≥ 90) with a total luminous flux output exceeding 50,000 lm. It incorporates a second‑generation color standard for pure colors and a wide gamut, with CMY infinite color mixing and CTO linear color temperature adjustment to paint the vastness of the era. A framing system rotatable ±90° clearly defines every impactful moment of historical decision‑making.

As the prolonged applause faded, FINE ART used light as a brush – not only illuminating the arduous pioneering journey of China's modern industry, but also reflecting the unyielding spine of the Chinese nation striving for survival and development in desperate times. Where light and shadow reach, the metallic echoes and spirit of self‑strengthening from the hundred‑year history of Hanyang transform on this stage into a timeless tribute to the ages.

FINE ART Supports the Stunning Premiere of the Acrobatics Drama The Art of War in Kunming
On the evening of May 21, 2026, coinciding with the seventh anniversary of the Xi'an Warrior Flags Acrobatic Troupe, the large-scale acrobatics drama The Art of War – a National Arts Fund 2024 Stage Creation Grant project – officially premiered at the Warrior Flags Grand Theatre in Dianchi Houhai, Kunming. Combining breathtaking acrobatic vocabulary with profound military philosophy, the production delivered a deeply moving audio-visual feast to the audience of the Spring City.

Using stage montage techniques, the drama interweaves the personal fate of Sun Wu (Sun Tzu) with the turbulent events of the Spring and Autumn period. From first perceiving the art of war in a family of generals, to forming a deep friendship with Wu Zixu and entering the state of Wu together; from the brilliant strategy of defeating Chu with 30,000 troops at the Battle of Boju, to witnessing the devastation of war and resolutely retiring, finally writing the thirteen chapters of the timeless military classic. The opening scene of a ruined battlefield is both a true portrayal of the chaotic Spring and Autumn era and the starting point of Sun Wu’s lifelong exploration of the art of war. The concluding scene of a desolate hillside with sparse woods and quietly resting bamboo slips represents not only the end of his life but also the beginning of The Art of War being handed down for millennia. Infusing poetic emotion into the solid historical framework, the drama presents a warm, passionate, struggling, and persistent image of the Sage of War.

The audience applauded thunderously. High-level acrobatic skills such as ballet on the shoulder, bouncing on bars, throwing and catching, soft contortion, and aerial straps vividly depicted the clashing metal-and-iron chaos of the Spring and Autumn period. The “Way” of military strategy and the “emotion” of human nature were seamlessly fused, eliciting exclamations of “stunning.”

In this stage narrative interweaving strength and beauty, multiple professional lighting fixtures from FINE ART used precise light and shadow to infuse soul into the contemporary interpretation of the millennial military classic. Within a zoom range of 6° to 50°, it delicately reproduces the desolation of battlefield ruins and the warm texture of bamboo-slip calligraphy, sharply framing Sun Wu’s solitary figure writing the classic and the grand spectacle of the Battle of Boju.

The FINE 4019 PIXIE PLUS two-in-one beam and wash light, using high-quality RGBW four-in-one LEDs as its light source, achieves an illuminance of 29,500 lux at 6 meters. With a wide linear zoom range of 4° to 60° and uniform color mixing, it effortlessly creates the changing atmosphere from youthful enlightenment to the devastation of war. The FINE 608 BATTEN moving head bar light, with 8 x 60W RGBW four-in-one sources and a 5°–50° zoom, produces a full, non‑crossing beam at narrow angles, outlining the solemn formations of troops on the battlefield. The FINE 550 BSW PLUS three-in-one light, with its Ø169mm output lens, creates a robust beam. Its CMY + CTO + flow color wheel interplay injects the sharpness of metal and the intense background of war into the stage.

From May 23 to 26, The Art of War will continue its run at the Warrior Flags Grand Theatre in Dianchi Houhai, Kunming. FINE ART is honored to witness, through light and shadow, this dialogue across millennia on military wisdom – as the bamboo slips rest quietly and the smoke of war dissipates, the wisdom and spirit of the Sage of War will never end on this stage.

FINE ART Passionately Supports the Stunning Premiere of the Original Drama Qin Zheng
During the May Day holiday, the upgraded performances of the local original drama Qin Zheng (The Qin Zither) concluded successfully at Xianyang Grand Theatre within the Xianyang Civic Cultural Center. Jointly planned by the Publicity Department of the CPC Xianyang Municipal Committee, the Xianyang Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and meticulously produced by Xianyang Cultural Tourism Development Group and Xianyang Performing Arts Co., Ltd., the play was offered free of charge to citizens and tourists, allowing guests from the literary and artistic circles as well as the general public to enjoy this audio-visual feast of Qin culture.

Qin Zheng takes the cultural symbol of Xianyang, the Qin zither, as its artistic thread, and follows historical figures such as Qin Shi Huang and Meng Tian to tell the epic story of the Qin dynasty’s northern campaigns against the Xiongnu, the construction of the Great Wall, and the integration of agricultural and nomadic civilizations. The grand and atmospheric stage design recreates the vast desolation of the Qin borderlands. The primitive and heavy costumes perfectly complement the powerful and stirring music. The actors deliver superb performances, bringing to life vivid characters such as the ambitious Qin Shi Huang and the loyal and courageous Meng Tian, reviving on stage the sense of national duty and historical integrity from over two thousand years ago. The production boasts a top‑tier creative team: art director Zou Jianhong, chief director Huang Dingshan, screenwriter Zhu Hai, associate director He Tao, stage designer Zhou Danlin, lighting designer Zhou Pingping, and others. From script creation and stage presentation to performance interpretation, every detail has been meticulously refined through full‑process intensive rehearsals, ultimately achieving a stage work of high ideological, artistic, and entertainment value.

In the visual presentation of this Qin dynasty epic, multiple professional lighting fixtures from FINE ART worked in concert, using precise light and shadow to sculpt the spirit of Qin culture. The FINE 1700ZLB BSWF four‑in‑one moving head light features a custom 1500W module and incorporates a second‑generation color standard, delivering pure colors and a wide color gamut, finely reproducing the heavy textures of Qin dynasty costumes and the solemn atmosphere of border‑land beacon fires. Its uniform color mixing effortlessly creates the multi‑layered atmosphere from the majesty of the court to the heat of the battlefield. The FINE 470 BSW three‑in‑one light, with its large 174mm output lens, achieves a minimum beam angle of just 2.8° in beam mode. The beam is sharp and solid. Combined with CMY infinite color mixing and linear CTO color temperature adjustment, it forges the sharpness of iron armor when war drums thunder and weaves the tenderness of home and country when the Qin zither plays softly.

It is worth noting that taking the creation and rehearsal of Qin Zheng as an opportunity, Xianyang formally established the Xianyang Performing Arts Drama Troupe, filling the gap in local professional theatrical performance groups and launching a new model of cultural‑tourism integration that combines “repertoire creation – team building – regular operation.” FINE ART is honored to have participated with light and shadow, witnessing a city’s contemporary practice of continuing the root of Qin culture through artistic innovation and polishing its urban image with high‑quality productions.
FINE ART FINE 6019 PIXIE IP Illuminates the Magnificent Legend of Ode to the Horse
On the evening of April 22, on the nearly 10,000-square-meter super-large performance ground of the Inner Mongolia Ethnic Minority Cultural and Sports Activity Center, the first performance of the 2026 season of the large-scale equestrian panoramic epic Ode to the Horse was staged with stunning impact. As a groundbreaking resident production that fills the gap in the region's real-scene equestrian performances, the show has become a phenomenon-level calling card for the deep integration of culture and tourism in Inner Mongolia, thanks to its grand outdoor real-scene scale and immersive viewing experience.

The whole play follows the life of a herdsman's son. From "The Heavenly Horse Descends" to "Ode to the Horse," a five-chapter narrative unfolds the deep journey of man and horse meeting, accompanying each other, and living and dying together. The performance combines equestrian skills, Mongolian song, dance, music, acrobatics and other artistic elements, together with high-definition projection, panoramic LED and high-tech sound, light and electricity effects, creating a visual wonder of "the sky as the dome and the earth as the stage." Thousands of horses gallop through the mist; difficult stunts such as mid-air somersaults on horseback and pyramid formations on horseback are breathtakingly spectacular. Long songs and khoomei pierce the night sky, telling the deep bond between grassland children and their horses throughout their lives, vividly displaying the spiritual character of the Mongolian horse: resilience, courage, loyalty, benevolence and restraint.

In this immersive feast of thousands of horses galloping on the grassland, FINE ART's FINE 6019 PIXIE IP professional high-power LED all-weather moving head wash light provided full support throughout, infusing the grassland legend with soul through outstanding light efficiency.

The new optical system of the FINE 6019 PIXIE IP balances both color mixing uniformity and soft effects. With a unique zoom range from a powerful 3.2° beam to a wide 65° soft wash, it can focus closely on the affectionate gaze between rider and horse, and also bathe the vast canvas of beacon fires and solitary smoke in the desert in its light, meeting the diverse lighting needs of the nearly 10,000-square-meter stage.

The wash effect of the FINE 6019 PIXIE IP is particularly outstanding: azure blue as if washed, spreading the deep stillness of the night sky over the Chile River grassland, echoing the distant notes of Mongolian long songs; jade green like lush grass, flowing across the boundless sea of grassland, reflecting the tender warmth of the horseback home; flame red igniting the solemn intensity of beacon fire and smoke of war, pushing the grand momentum of a thousand horses setting off on an expedition to a climax. In addition, its full-protection design provides seven major functions including smoke-resistance, UV-resistance, sand-and-dust-resistance, corrosion-resistance, and high/low temperature resistance. It requires no frequent cleaning or maintenance, operating maintenance-free, saving time, effort and trouble.

As the sound of horse hooves shakes the entire venue, FINE ART uses light as a brush – not only illuminating the warmth of the horseback home and the grandeur of the thousand-horse expedition, but also reflecting the unceasing contemporary spirit of the grassland children striving for self-renewal.
