On the evening of July 10, the Yueqing original Yue opera Wang Shipeng premiered at Yueqing Grand Theater in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province
The eight-act Yue opera Wang Shipeng is an artistic creation based on Wang's real historical materials and featured by Song verse. It shows Wang Shipeng's moving life from being a top scorer in liberal arts to a great sage in the Southern Song Dynasty. It has composed an ode to honest officials who put people's livelihood first, served the country with loyalty to the emperor and benefited all sides.
Wang Shipeng was a famous poet in the Southern Song Dynasty and a staunch anti-Jin scholar. He spent most of his life in farming, studying and teaching. At the age of 46, he was an official for more than ten years, but he was diligent in political affairs and did a lot of good things for the country and the people with clear love and hate.
At the age of 33, Wang Shipeng founded Meixi Academy in his hometown to teach students. He went to the Imperial college six times in more than ten years. Due to the political corruption of the Southern Song Dynasty, the exclusive power of Qin Hui, a treacherous minister, and the darkness of the imperial examination room, he failed every time.
After Qin Hui's death, in 1157, at the age of 46, Wang Shipeng took part in the imperial examination again. The subject of the examination was "seizing power" and he was promoted to the top jinshi (i.e. No.1 scholar) by Zhao Gou, Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty. Because he advocated the war of resistance and recommended veteran generals Zhang Jun and Liu Qi, He was ostracized to return to his hometown.
After Song Xiaozong ascended the throne, he successively served in addition to the secretary of the foreign Lang, the state son division industry, living house people, the imperial history, and also for the two emperors Xiaozong, Guangzong. He was able to arrange a peace agreement and impeached the Lord and his representative and prime Minister Shi Hao on eight charges of committing adultery and endangering the country, so that he was removed from office.
In the winter of the fifth year of Qiandao (1169), Wang Shipeng resigned from Quanzhou. When he left, men and women, old and young, were crying and tried to retain Wang Shipeng. Later, they simply followed the practice of the people of Rao state to retain Wang Shipeng and tore down the bridge he had to pass through. Wang Shipeng had to take a detour, and they followed him to Fengting Station in Xianyou County. Quanzhou people restored the bridge and named it Meixi Bridge after Wang Shipeng's name Meixi.
"Wang Shipeng" has attracted keen attention from industry insiders and the public since its opening. Since the news of the premiere, tickets for the show have been more difficult to find, and an extra performance will be performed at Yueqing Grand Theater on July 11.
With the use of colorful lighting, FINE 1400 PERF, FINE 470 BSW and FINE 1537 PIXIE, the play creates just the right atmosphere for the unfolding of the story. With the ups and down of the story, the lighting turns on and off, a wonderful drama is presented in front of the audience, and the charm of the characters is fully expressed.
