From November 16th to 18th, the newly produced cultural tourism performance "Ode to Xiurong Through the Ages" was publicly performed for three consecutive days at the Xinzhou Theatre. This large-scale situational drama was meticulously created by the Xinzhou Errentai Opera Troupe Co., Ltd., a direct subsidiary of the Xinzhou Cultural Research Institute, with funding from the Shanxi Provincial Special Fund for Cultural Industry Development.

 

Guided by the creative concept of "Forging Tangible Scenes from an Intangible Soul," "Ode to Xiurong Through the Ages" innovatively employs storytelling to link historical figures. It brings to the stage personalities deeply connected to the ancient city of Xinzhou, such as Wang Zhaojun, Yuan Haowen, those who embarked on the "Journey West," and Gao Junyu. Through four chapters—"Devotion," "Original Aspiration," "Tenacity," and "Faith"—the performance unfolds a vast spiritual scroll of the enduring Xinzhou ethos.

 

The production integrates various performance forms including drum storytelling, dance, song, and drama, enhancing the narrative tension and artistic impact of the piece. The lighting designer for this show, Chen Erkang, constructed visually rich and deeply meaningful scenes for this situational drama that blends multiple art forms.

 

Caiyi Technology contributed nearly one hundred professional luminaires to build the multi-layered visual landscape for "Ode to Xiurong Through the Ages." The FINE 1400 PERF profile cutting moving light delivers uniform and soft beam profiles, achieving precise frost effects without altering the beam size or luminous flux. Its subtle frost effect helped create a grand and poignant historical atmosphere for the vast northern frontier in the scene depicting Wang Zhaojun's departure from the homeland.
