Mao Dun Literature Award-winning works! 'Book of Life' drama presented in Xi'an
From May 14th to 19th, the fourth work of the "Mao Award" series of Shaanxi People's Art Theater - the drama "Book of Life" met the audience for the first time at Xi'an People's Theater. In honor of the 45th anniversary of reform and opening up, this work on realistic themes has been carefully polished and improved for five years, and has been affirmed and loved by industry experts and audiences.
The drama "Book of Life" is adapted from the novel of the same name by Mr. Li Peifu, who won the 9th Mao Dun Literature Award, and has been selected as a major cultural boutique project in Shaanxi Province and a special fund support project for the development of cultural industry in Shaanxi Province. In order to bring this heavy work about the changes of the 50-year era of the city and the countryside to the stage, Shaanxi Renyi began the preparation of the play five years ago, inviting a number of domestic industry celebrities to serve as the main creators.
The drama is 320 minutes long, with the narration of the orphan's "lost" soul, connecting the life encounters of characters such as "Camel", "Old Uncle", "Liang Wufang", "Insect Sister-in-law" and "Du Qiuyue", which is shockingly presented and has become another masterpiece of Shaanxi people's art.

The characters in the book are carefully interpreted by the actors, as if they "come to life" on the stage.
