'Youth Sword Casting 221', shining brightly
Qinghai's first opera "Youth Sword Forging 221" successfully premiered at the Qinghai Grand Theatre on March 27-28, 2023. As a key play in Qinghai Province in 2022, the opera is planned and produced by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Qinghai Province, and created and performed by Qinghai Performing Arts Group.
"Youth Sword Forging 221" conveys a strong and tenacious spiritual power to the young generation in the development of the new era through stage art works, and jointly feels how the ancestors overcame all difficulties under the difficult hardware foundation and the complex climatic environment of the plateau to successfully develop the "atomic bomb and hydrogen bomb" for China.
The era of the construction of the 221 base was precisely the youth of the old-timers of science and technology in the fifties and sixties of the last century. They closely linked their personal ideals with the destiny of the motherland, their personal aspirations with the revitalization of the country, dared to overcome all difficulties and dangers, and wrote the glory of that era with firm conviction and indomitable will.

All the main creators of the opera "Youth Sword Forging 221" worked hard to create a rehearsal, Xing Shimiao, the national first-class director, Tang Jianping, the country's first composer doctor, gathered many outstanding artists from the north and south of the country, joined hands with young tenor singers Xue Haoyan and Wupan, young baritone singer Tong Wei, young soprano singers Wei Jiani and Guo Yanhua, together with the outstanding artists of the International Principal Philharmonic Orchestra, the International Principal Philharmonic Orchestra Choir, and the Qinghai Performing Arts Group Song Team.
